Surgery was only invented in 1940's / 1950's.
My daughter has had Major Open Heart Surgery - and until diagnosis (22/12/08) I was so blah say, I had always thought it happened to 'someone else's child'
We need to spread awareness, we need to tell people about symptoms and if they have slipped through the net to seek medical help as soon as possible.
Congenital Heart Defects are the BIGGEST killer in infants.
There are no real reasons as to what causes Congenital Heart Defects, we need to know why they happen to stop them happening to others and especially our children.
Acting now will save many generations from this heart ache (No pun intended) and going through such a traumatic surgery in order to lead a 'normal-ish' life.
It isn't fair and needs to be stopped.
