For many years, potential nail techs have been subject to going to cosmetology school to learn Nail Technology with minimal hours being used for this specialty.
Potential nail techs should have the choice of whether they want to attend a cosmetology school or a Nail Technology school.
Thus, to make such an option available Manicurist Limited Specialist Instructors should be allowed to open a Nail Technology school without any other curriculums being taught.
We, the undersigned, potential nail techs, current nail techs, nail tech instructors, cosmetology instructors and other interested parties, would like to petition the State of Michigan Department of Cosmetology and other relevant parties, to allow Nail technology instructors to open Nail Technology only schools.
Please allow potential nail techs to be able to attend a school of their specialty. If you wanted to be an Engineer you wouldn't go to a school that provided a basic Engineering program that thought just the basics of each specialty of Engineering. You would attend a school of your specialty depending on what type of Engineer you aspired to be.
Please don't allow the glass ceiling for instructors to be limited. Let them climb the ladder too and allow them to open their own Nail Technology School.
