Since the disease break out on 4th September, 2014, the continent has lost it human resources and it has a huge effect of the economies of countries affected in West Africa.
Total Cases: 8997
Laboratory-Confirmed Cases: 5006
Total Deaths: 4493
Currently, there is a problem in how to control the epidemic as government and community operation has been paralyzed. Most African countries do not have the capacities to control the disease if it is allowed to go beyond West Africa.
In order to show the solidarity with our brothers and sisters in West Africa, the Africa Cup of Nation is the tournament which unify us as people of this great continent.
We can not allow the celebration and competition to be happening on the other side while other countries are struggling in containing the epidemic.
If AFCON 2015 is allowed to go on, we are sure that it will make worse in the spread of the epidemic and also it will put many nations at risk.
It is for this reason that I write to petition the CAF executive to cancel the AFCON 2015 edition for fear of further spray of the disease.
