Ulverston is a small market town in south Cumbria. Our local economy and independent character is under threat from a proposed new out-of-town Sainsbury's superstore.
We want to stop this happening - and we think we can. But we don't have long. Please sign this petition if you want to urge South Lakes District Council to reject what Sainsbury's wants to do.

We urge South Lakeland District Council to protect Ulverston's economy and town centre by rejecting the application for a new out-of-town Sainsbury's.
The proposed store is too big for our town and would have a disastrous impact on the local economy. It would fly in the face of SLDC's local plan, national planning guidance and the Council's own retail assessment.
