The State of Oregon would like to use salt on our roads after 20 years of not using them. The sodium bicarbonate is not only harmful to the environment and animals. But it also destroys our cars and trucks (rust). I see it as vandalism not only to our vehicles but to nature and our watersheds. Salt effects land and animals up to 600 feet from where it is applied. There is no reason after 20 years we need to go back to salt. It will end up doing more harm than good.
We, The undersigned, Call on Governor Kate Brown of Oregon to stop the use of salt on our roads immediately to save the land, animals, and our hard earned vehicles.
