We are asking for your help and support in protecting our village from developers who value money and profit above the consideration of residents, the amenity value of our village and the protection of our local environment.
We recognise that Wellow cannot stand still in time and we are going to have to accept an amount of housing development now and in the years to come.
However, we want to ensure that all new development is done in the most appropriate, sensitive and sympathetic way. Development that protects the key things which past generations have enjoyed and future generations should cherish about our beautiful village.
This is why we are asking for your support in objecting to the proposed redevelopment of Bryanston on Whinwhistle Road. This is a stark example of maximising profit, infilling and overdevelopment.
A developer has applied to develop the SMALL PLOT from the current 2 BEDROOM BUNGALOW to 2 x SEPARATE 2 STOREY 3 BEDROOM DETACHED HOUSES WITH 5 PARKING SPACES. This equates to a total increase from 2 bedrooms to 6 bedrooms and 2 parking spaces to 5 parking spaces.
There is absolutely no regard for the impact this will have on our village, the neighbouring properties, the local traffic and the amenity of the surrounding area. This is completely out of keeping with the whole of East and West Wellow. This is unprecedented and a whole different ball game to Starlings. This is the sort of excessive ‘cramming them in’ development you might see in large urban areas.
IMAGINE IF EVERY PROPERTY ON WHINWHISTLE WAS DEVELOPED IN THIS WAY!!!
That is the reality of what we are facing if we do not tackle this. If we, the local community, do not stand up for Wellow and protect it, then nobody else will.
WE HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO STOP THIS INSIDIOUS AND DESTRUCTIVE
OVERDEVELOPMENT.....
So please help us fight this and sign below and object to this
planning application and help us protect Wellow so future generations can enjoy this beautiful place to live.
Once Wellow has been spoilt, it is gone forever and there is no going back
I hereby confirm my objection to application 20/01486/FULLS for the following reasons:
• Overdevelopment of a small plot with a total increase from 2 bedrooms to 6
bedrooms and parking from 2 to 5 parking spaces. Lack of sufficient turning space resulting in vehicles reversing onto Whinwhistle Road and on-road parking.
• Scale and bulk of the development, significant increase in overall floorspace. Visual intrusion and impact on openness.
• Overlooking of neighbouring properties and loss of privacy.
• Completely out of character of the area, the surrounding properties and the whole of East and West Wellow.
• Traffic generation (estimated at 6.5 car movements per 2 person household) of 26 additional daily car movements based on 4 person occupancy per house. The A36 is already extremely bust and dangerous to access at rush hour
• Proximity (~450m) to the New Forest National Park
• Protection of our countryside and impact on the Blackwater Wildlife Corridor
