Petition For Kentucky Governor Bevin To Issue Proclamation For Homeland Heroes Day

We the undersigned petition Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin to issue a proclamation declaring a day to be designated as Homeland Heroes Day in honor of the approximate 20,000 law enforcement officers, unknown number of firefighters and paramedics who gave their lives in the line of duty. The day that is designated as Homeland Heroes day will also serve to honoring the thousands of law enforcement officers, firefighters and paramedics and all of the retired individuals who dedicate or had dedicated their lives to protect and serve not just the citizens of Kentucky but American Society as a whole. Governor's proclamation of a designated Homeland Heroes Day should be a day other than Sept 11 which is a day that will always be remembered as a day of an American National tragedy where Americans will always remember as a day to mourn all those who on Sept 11 lost their lives. Governor Bevin's proclamation designating a day as Homeland Heroes Day should be a day of recognition and celebration for those who served in the professions described above and to honor such individuals.
