Quite simply, it's about starting a petition to get the UFC to open a 145 pound weight class for women fighters. Strikeforce had it and we got to see Cyborg v Carano, arguably still the most important women's MMA fight of all-time (or at least prior to Rousey v Tate 1, then Carmouche).
Invicta has a Featherweight division which is ruled by Cyborg...it's about time the show was brought to the UFC, where the elite competition is. I would imagine that the only people that really don't want a 145 division in the UFC are Ronda Rousey and her supporters. What do you think? Disagree?
We all saw the documentary of Cyborg's grueling final preparations for her fight with Lina Lansberg. The woman is killing herself just to make 140, where no title is on the line. With all the money the UFC has, surely they can simply open a 145 pound weight class and install Cyborg as champion, with competition brought in from Invicta, as well as a TUF season for women Featherweights. We could also see the bigger names from 135 step up to challenge Cyborg, seeing as the title would be on the line (plus more money).
We, the many fans of MMA, call on the UFC to open a Featherweight (145 pound) division for the women fighters. There is an audience for it and you have a world-class fighter in Cris Cyborg to be its inaugural champion.
