Petition to REPRIEVE Ugandans on death row and life imprisonment in China

This is a petition to the Ugandan Government, Ugandan embassy in China and United Nations to immediately start working on the process to reprieve Ugandans currently facing death sentence and life imprisonment in the Chinese prisons.

The Chinese government claims these Ugandans were charged for drug trafficking. We also believe these youth are still valuable to Uganda, and since its Uganda’s government obligation to protect its people and property, it should still be its onus to fight for the safety and right to life of these susceptible Ugandan inmates in China.

The trade and investment agreements between the Peoples Republic of China and the Republic of Uganda should not only end with the reciprocal protection and promotion of fiscal investments but also mutual understanding on other social issues like this one. China monetarily benefits a lot from Uganda and so it’s time for Uganda to also use this as leverage in the release of these Ugandan youth.

This petition doesn’t support the action of these inmates in any way, but it’s just seeking a remission of punishment to the following Ugandans and others not mentioned on this list;
