Poly and Non-monogamous relationship status

The polyamory, polygamy, and non-monogamous community would like to have the same opportunity to include their relationship dynamics as any other person on Facebook. There are many different groups on Facebook that have the platform to support and love the community they are in and have the opportunity to show their pride for those said groups including LGBTQ, BLM, etc. and poly groups should be able to do the same. Now I understand that some may not see the relevance to why this is an important issue, but just like people that are in a monogamous relationship have the luxury of announcing their love and appreciation for their significant other, people in the poly community should have that same right. The limitations on who we can put on our relationship status should be inclusive to all dynamics not just monotonous ones. As an individual in the poly community I would love the opportunity to present both of my partners instead of being limited to choosing which one to have that title. This is a whole group of people that are being left out because the differences in these dynamics nonconformity to the “normality” of society and frankly it is unfair. This issue may not seem important to the average person, especially because of the fact relationship status for poly and non monogamous doesn’t hold relevance to those individuals but that doesn’t make it any less important either. We are a large community of people who would like the same access to showing off and publicly claiming all of our significant others as a person with one boyfriend/girlfriend has. Facebook should add in the option to include more then one partner making it inclusive to those who are in relationship with two, or more, as well as being able to specify the dynamic in which they are apart of. As a community, we find this to be as important as anyone else wanting to express their love for another but don’t have the option to do so on this platform. This reality should really change to accommodate the large amount of people that don’t currently have the same rights as those in a conventional type relationship.
