Preserve West Palm Beach Citizens Coalition is dedicated to protecting the quality of life for West Palm Beach citizens and businesses by advocating controlled growth and preservation of an appropriate zoning code and comprehensive plan.
WE, the undersigned, represent a broad coalition and cross section of residents, businesses, taxpayers, voters and concerned citizens that all live or work in the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, that are in support of maintaining the character of our neighborhoods and a downtown that preserves its open spaces and limited building heights.
We do not support skyscrapers along our waterfront, nor do we support building heights that mirror that of downtown Miami and other city downtowns such as Ft. Lauderdale, and we do not support any effort to exceed existing building height limitations along the Okeechobee Blvd. corridor.
Further, we respectfully request that the West Palm Beach City Commission and the Mayor of West Palm Beach collectively address a resolution to the growing traffic gridlock that has resulted in the Okeechobee Blvd. corridor as one of the worst traffic congested areas in West Palm Beach and has made navigating vehicular and pedestrian movement untenable at all times on all days.
