"TO PROTECT AND SERVE"
That's the motto of Jersey City police department. However we the citizens residents taxpayers and renters of Jersey City on Bramhall Avenue, Atlantic Street, Union St., Oak street Forrest Street, Virginia Avenue between Bergen Avenue and Sackett Street and Salem Lafayette Court and Bergen and ocean Avenues don't feel protected or served.
Within the past two months there has been at least a dozen shootings in broad daylight, the shooters shoot at one another across the street like they are in the wild West. It's almost a miracle that innocent children, seniors or anyone else in between have not been shoot or killed.
The West district has made some effort but it is not sufficient. Immediate and comprehensive attention needs to be given to this life-threatening situation.
A serious police plan of action needs to be developed and implemented before an innocent person or persons are harmed and or killed. An adequate level of personnel has not been tasked with solving this situation, breaking up these GANGS who are not only waging war on one another, but all the citizens of this community.
