The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) annual bill has passed through the House and is now expected to be debated on the Senate floor. This bill has received bipartisan support, with two-thirds support from Republicans. Buried in the text is a stipulation that would now require both men and WOMEN to register with the Selective Service System when they turn 18 years old. Since the inception of the Selective Service System in 1917 only men have been required to register. This verbiage is dangerous as it would place women in high-combat roles in the event of a national emergency. We stand firm that this bill should be opposed in its current form.
A study was conducted by the Department of Defense several years ago that showed that all male units were more effective 70% of the time than mix-sex units. While we do not suggest that women do not have a role in the military, we do believe that forcing women into the draft will pose more risks than having them voluntarily enlist. This year’s NDAA bill is focusing on a WOKE agenda instead of prioritizing the effectiveness of our military (military readiness). Please help us take a stand against this bill and make our voices be heard by signing our petition today.
We, the undersigned, call on both Senator Rick Scott and Senator Marco Rubio to say no to requiring women to register for the selective service.
