Sherwood Forest is the first of three phases in Project Rothburry that will provide the University of Texas at Tyler population access to free fruits and vegetables on campus. Sherwood Forest will be a fruit tree and berry orchard that will offer students, faculty, and staff free fruits during harvest and aesthetic beauty year round.

Sherwood Forest will produce five to seven types of fruit bearing trees and an assortment of berries. The potential area will be able to hold 30 to 50 trees, along with a pathway going diagonally across the orchard.

Each of the trees will provide students with free fruit and will enhance the aesthetic appeal of our already beautiful campus. With the success of the project, UT Tyler will make a notable mark on the academic community, as it would be the first school in the University of Texas System to host such a project. SIFE will provide all funding for this project, and there will be no funds taken from the University. SIFE will also maintain Sherwood Forest year round.

After careful research we have deduced that the best location for this project is on the corner of Campus Dr. and Patriot Dr. This petition will show the UT Tyler administration that the University community supports Sherwood Forest.

We, the UT Tyler community, respectfully urge the University to provide SIFE with the land on the corner of Campus Dr. and Patriot Dr. to implement Sherwood Forest.
