INTEGRITY FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPIES (ISRPT)
ISRPT is the pro-regulation psychological therapies body for psychotherapy, psychotherapeutic counselling, counselling, and psychological well-being practitioners. We believe that those who are working with children, families and the public (in health, education, social care, private, charity and voluntary sectors) must be trained to the highest standards, meet common requirements for continuous professional development and embody moral and ethical practice.
The name ‘Integrity’ emerged from a vision to integrate psychological therapies more effectively in our society. This requires integration with statutory processes and procedures and makes implicit reference to the idea of ‘wholeness’ which is integral to so many psychological approaches as well as the connotations that the word itself offers with reference to ethics.
We the undersigned believe in statutory regulation for the psychological professions.
True protection of the clients/patients is integral to a system that requires; the engagement of the professional with their profession; training to high professional standards; clarity and transparency of processes for discussing concerns and an independent regulator.
