The New South Wales Government has done all in its power to ensure the public are not made aware of the details and benefits of the power sell off. The Premier prorogued Parliament prior to Christmas to restrict the opposition to start an enquiry.
Even though the enquiry is currently underway, the ex-power directors (around 7) resigned the day before the deal was signed, won't be appearing as the Premier refuses to give them parliamentary privilege. So far it has been revealed of the $5b+ sale the NSW public will only see around $400mil. How is that in the best interests of the public?
We, the undersigned, call on the Premier of the NSW Government to re-open Parliament, provide any and all witnesses in the power enquiry with parliamentary privilege.
We, as constituents of NSW and the public to whom all politicians answer to demand an open and transparent enquiry to ensure the public's interests are being looked after.
