The REAL ID Act was passed in February of 2005 without consent of the American people.
It requires every citizen who carries a driver's license to carry a Real ID, a nationalized identification card that will compromise American privacy and security.
The card will begin issuing on May 11th of 2008.
This petition calls for the Colorado government to refuse compliance with the REAL ID Act.
We, the undersigned, call on the government of the State of Colorado to refuse compliance with the REAL ID Act and any other national ID legislation that may or may not arise.
