Currently, our oceans have over 3 billion pieces of plastic in them, and have countless more tiny particles that are harming our environment. By reducing plastic usage, even if it doesn't seem like much, does impact how much waste goes into our ecosystem. By signing this petition, you will be showing your support for reducing plastic usage by restaurants in Evanston. The goal of this petition is to replace plastic products that restaurants use with biodegradable alternatives. For example, instead of plastic straws, using cardboard ones, or instead of styrofoam take-out containers, using paper based ones. These small changes do make an impact, and by getting rid of at least a little bit of the waste going into the environment, it's helping.
