In 2016 the British Airways seasonal weekly flight from London City Airport to Angers Loire was removed from the timetable.
Angers is the gateway to the Loire Valley, a highly popular tourist destination in France and the flight was very popular and well utilised.
The only other flights to the region (to Tours or Nantes) fly out of both London Stansted and Gatwick, both of which are not so convenient to access for those passengers living in and around the central London area and puts a considerable amount of extra time and expense onto their journey.
This has had an impact for those people wishing to visit friends or family in the region and holidaymakers.
It also impacts on owners of gites or chambres d'hotes in the region that, in turn, affects tourism.
We the undersigned call upon both Angers Loire and London City airports to hold discussions and do whatever it is necessary to reinstate this essential flight.
