Many accidents and near misses have happened in the past 10 years. On October 21st, 2009 a Landmark resident, Mr. Michael Herod, was rear ended while attempting to turn left (onto Springwood Pl.) into Landmark subdivision. Mr Herod's vehicle was totaled and he sustained injuries to his neck and lower back.
It is in the experience of residents of Landmark subdivision, Parkside Village, the Christ Community Church Congregation, and all those who frequent the Clayton Community Park that the posted speed limit of 45 MPH on Amelia Church Road is too high and is in fact very dangerous.
The current speed limit not only posses a real danger to the neighborhood children, the children playing at the park, and the children attempting to cross the road; but also to the motorists waiting patiently to turn into their subdivisions.
It is our opinion that the legal speed limit of 35 MPH should be carried out ALL the way to the Guy Road intersection.
