Marijuana is a Schedule I drug by the DEA, classified under the same category as Heroin, LSD, and methamphetamine. It is said to have no medical value, but 33 of our nation's states have agreed that it does.
It has been proven that marijuana can relieve pain due to HIV and chemotherapy, as well as increase appetite. It also has been proven to reduce seizures in children with epilepsy.
We, citizens of the United States of America, call upon the United States Congress to renege the Controlled Substance Act of 1970, reschedule marijuana to a higher schedule, and to recognize the medical benefits that it contains.
We, the undersigned, fully believe that rescheduling this drug will benefit all families across the nation, and enhance the quality of life for those who need this natural medication.
