they've scrapped mobility dla for residents of residential homes depriving them of what little independence they do have they are closing the independent living fund and rolling out a capability to work assessment the inventor of which says it's a mess and their own review says is unfit for purpose
We call for the reversing of cuts to mobility benefits for disabled people in residential care.
We call to reverse the decision to close the independent living fund, scrap the unfit for purpose capacity to work assessment and use existing government records instead ie records of incapacity claimants dla claimants and records of care packages to assess ability to work in the event of a new assessment have it carried out only medically qualified staff of GP level or higher.
