Your Excellency,
We are writing to you to look for your support in the review of the blasphemy laws in Pakistan.
We demand the revision of the blasphemy laws introduced in 1986 from the former president and general Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq (articles 295 B and C of the Pakistani penal code).
A law that over the years has become an instrument of death and torture.
We want to recall the serious situation in which several people accused of blasphemy currently live in prisons.
We would like to recall the case of two Christian brothers Qasir and Amoon Ayub who were sentenced to death by a court in northern Punjab in December 2018 after being found guilty of "blasphemy".
We ask for the immediate cancellation of all death sentences.
We demand respect for human rights for all citizens accused of blasphemy. We ask for the protection of these innocent people and their families.
We thank you in advance for the time dedicated to this important and urgent matter.
Yours sincerely.
