Holy Family JNS, River Valley Swords is over subscribed. The age cut off for children starting next year, is to be 5 before 04 November 2017, this means that children born in Nov & Dec will be nearly 6 starting school the following year. There are over 100 children, ready to start school on the waiting list with no place to go!
The school has 6 classes of 27 children per class.
The problem is not limited to this year, but has grown year on year since since 2014, with the cut off age limit pushing back months each year, and will only get worse as building in the catchment area expands.
This petition is calling on the Minister of Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, and the Board of Management at the school to help solve the problem by providing a 7th class or bigger class sizes.
We the undersigned call on the Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton, and the Board of Management at Holy Family, JNS, River Valley Swords to provide more school places for children in the local area.
