Cairnwell Lodge Spittal of Glenshee are going to be forced to live with 44 Tonne logging lorries passing metres from our lodge on a steep narrow track, with hairpin bends on a hillside with no walkways or safety measures in place for children, family and guests.
The felling licence is approved and they are going to approve a timber management plan in 14 days which is lasting up to 2033. This will then turn this peaceful setting into a busy haulage timber route. The neighbouring Sporting Estate own the track but are prepared to risk the safety of our family and guests to make money on timber extraction.
Our lodge sits below this very steep incline and we have been offered armico crash barriers as a safety measure.
