We have needed sand in the Lake Point arena for years, it would make it safer for the people using it and for the horses. The ground is so hard that if a person were to get thrown off their horse it would hurt that person considerably.
Also think about the horses, it hurts the horses feet and also their legs when running on the hard compacted dirt. We try to disc it and till it but it does not help, we need at least 6 inches of sand in there to cushion the landing and the horses footing.
We also have been promised that there would be sand in there for the past 2 years now, but still nothing. They say that the sand is to expensive, but they have managed to put 4 to 5 feet in the volleyball court that i have seen used about 3 times in 3 years.
So please help with the safety of the kid and people of Lake Point who use the horse arena.
We the horses owners of Lake Point call on the Lake Point board of parks and recreation, to provide us with sand in the horse arena once and for all for the safety of current and future horse owners.
