The Northwest School board is once again trying to close down the beloved Chapman school.
There are 69 K-5 students and 30 Preschoolers that would be without a school. With the preschool, we are looking at close to 110 students this fall. We have the highest resident percentage with nearly 2 to 1 ratio to option students. We have 2 less class offerings (PK-5 = 7 compared to K-8 = 9). If we had 6-8 in Chapman, we would have an additional 25 kids this year (123). If the cap of 15 for PK was removed we could allow 10 more students (5 am & 5 pm) which would result in a few more kindergartners each year.
The Northwest School District would like to close Chapman School after this school year (2018-2019). This is putting 99 kids out of a school. This number isn't just a number. These are 99 children that will be forced to attend already over crowded schools. Please help these children in being their voice.
