COLOSSUS, the infamous titan of wooden Roller Coasters, glamorized in an array of media including TV's Full House, films like "The Wiz" starring Michael Jackson and National Lampoon's Vacation, is set to close indefinitely, this summer.
The widely acclaimed amusement park ride and, in-arguably, Six Flag's main tourist attraction is to be torn down due to new passenger restrictions and to make way for the typical, "dime-a-dozen" bigger and faster monstrosities like all the others.
Our special girl, COLOSSUS, adored by all SoCal residents and by all who visitor her, erected in 1978, will be permanently lost to our dreams unless we act.
Even if you don't plan to ride roller coasters another day in your life, consider this one notion ...
Do you want to deprive your children and your children's children of the fond memories all Southern California residents share of our beloved Colossus.
Dear James W. P. Reid-Anderson, Six Flags CEO,
We, the residents of/and visitors to Southern California, implore you to spare and allow continued operation of "COLOSSUS," at all costs.
Furthermore, if our beloved flagship wooden coaster closes, we agree by signing to protest your organization and pledge our solidarity to:
1. Never visit another Six Flags
2. Convince others to join our plight
And lastly, insist our children abstain from visiting your parks, while growing up with the knowledge that Six Flags is an organization that not only does not care for its customers, but also violates the sanctity of our youth.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
