Save The Spectrum

This petition is to save The Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia Pa.

On Jan 18th Comcast Inc announced plans to build a shopping complex, a hotel and possibly apartments at the where The Spectrum currently sits. The Spectrum has stood for over 40 years and have been host to Flyers 76ers Pahantoms hockey as well as thousands of concerts and over entertainment events over the years.

No other arena in Philadelphia history, has had more championships won it in. It is up to the fans to save The Beloved Spectrum. The Spectrum is still a viable and usable commodity. If The Spectrum is demolished there will many events lost to other venues and either other cities.

There is no way events that are currently held at The Spectrum can be fit in scheduling at The Wachovia Center. It is impossibly at events will be lost. It will be a scheduling nightmare. This means for example if The Flyers are in the playoffs in May when the circus annually comes, The circus will be not be able to come to Philadelphia because there wont be The Spectrum and The Wachovia Center will be booked.

There is also the factors of lost jobs. The people who work at The Spectrum have done so for years and even when The Wachoiva Center was built they were still assigned to The Spectrum. These employee's will be without jobs. The Wachovia center is already staffed with enough concession workers. Most of all The Legacy and History that was made behind the walls of The Spectrum is in jeopardy.

By Signing this petition you hereby state you support and want The Spectrum to stand and not be destroyed. The Spectrum is a historical landmark. Our voices will be heard.

The plan of this petition is to get enough signatures and present Comcast with it to show them the outpouring of respect and love we have for this building and to save it.
