The Victorian iron footbridge that crosses the railway from East Park to Station Way, Crawley is due to be removed.
This forms part of the planning application CR/2016/0294/OUT made to Crawley Borough Council which is the regenerisation of Crawley train station.
Prior to the submission of the application Mr Arora attended a Southgate forum meeting where concerns relating to the bridge were raised.
Concerns had also been relayed to his team, according to him, at the events they held in the County Mall and the train station itself.
These concerns have been ignored and planning was submitted including the removal of the bridge.
Application CR/2016/0294/OUT Crawley Borough Council.
We the undersigned strongly object to the removal of the Victorion iron footbridge in Crawley, West Sussex, that crosses the railway line from East Park to Station Way.
We believe that bridge should remain where it is and should be repaired and renovated.
This bridge is part of our history and our heritage and should be preserved for future generations.
