Say NO to redistricting of Perry Hall Schools

Hello Neighbors,

This evening there is a BCPS school board meeting where redistricting Perry Hall Schools will be a topic of discussion.

Perry Hall schools are overcrowded because the surrounding schools have failed to provide quality and safe learning environments for the areas they serve. People purchase homes in Perry Hall believing they are giving their children the best opportunity possible at receiveing a good education. Some of our School Board Members and County Council Members believe that it should be up to them to decide whether our children are entitled to the quality education we as parents planned to provide and to decide which of the residents in the district should get to maintain the property values we worked hard to earn.

This is a time where we need to come together to speak out against redistricting, against our children receiving a sub par education at one of the surrounding schools, and against the inevitable drop in property value if you happen to be one of the unlucky households that is no longer in the school district you paid top dollar to be a part of.

Please sign the petition and, if you are able to, please show up to the meeting and speak against redistricting. While no one can deny that the overcrowding at Perry Hall schools needs to be addressed, it should not be done at the expense of the children and homeowners currently residing in the district.

If you believe there is a possibility your residence is located in an area that could be sent to another district this is your chance to have something to say about it.

The school board meeting begins at 6:30pm, you must arrive by 6pm to get on the list of speakers.
