Just recently the perimeter doors to our children's elementry school were locked during school hours, allowing the doors to only be opened from the inside.
We would like to see this taken further by having the front door to the school also be locked and an intercom be added to allow/monitor entries during school hours.
The school office does not have view of the front doors and parents have commented that they have walked in and thru the school without anyone noticing or inquiring as to the reason for being there.
This is a simple step to protect our children while they are attending school.
We, the undersigned, request action be taken by the River East School Division/School Trustee to further protect our children during school hours by having not only the perimeter doors locked but the main front entrance doors as well.
