Sedona City is incorporated in the middle of two counties. The City district imposes a city "Sales Taxes" and "Bed Tax" for those businesses in the city limits. Those collecting "Bed Tax" must pay both "Bed Tax" and "Sales Tax" for every room they sell.
The City Council voted in to give "regional special interest group" over one million dollars. This group is a majority of Non City district businesses.
They are using the discriminatory taxes collect to promote those not contributing to that sales tax basis. This hurts the in town businesses that are not paying the special interest group for a additional membership, "chamber"
By signing this petition let the Sedona City Council know you think this is unfair. Please ask them to stop this practice. All taxpayers monies should be used to target market in city businesses only.
Sedona City Council funding a regional chamber is unfair to your Sedona City businesses that collect your bed tax and sales tax. Please stop this practice.
All taxpayers monies should be used to target market in city businesses only. Let your in city businesses target market directly with city staff.
We don't think this is fair to your foot printed businesses in the city of Sedona.
