It is already impossible to live on Social Security alone. If the government gives benefits to "illegal" immigrants who have never contributed to the system, where does that leave us that have paid into Social Security all our working lives?
The immigration reform bill passed by the U.S. Senate in May 2006 included a provision allowing "undocumented" immigrants to collect Social Security benefits accrued if they paid taxes while working in the United States.
Attached is an opportunity to sign a petition that requires citizenship for eligibility to receive social services.
If you wish to sign it, please complete the required information. If you do not wish to sign the petition yourself, please forward on to anyone you think might be interested.
We the undersigned, protest against the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 [S.2611] passed by the U.S. Senate in May 2006 which included a provision allowing "undocumented" immigrants to collect Social Security benefits.
We urge that you and all congressional representatives require that only contributing "documented" immigrants and U.S. citizens to be eligible for social services in the United States.
