This petition is to get the local government to allow the use of the guardroom building as a museum and the offices to be used for the help of Veterans and their families who have mental health issues.
The Depot is very dear to so many Veterans as many have passed through the gates. It is also very dear to others who have their ashes buried in the Depot. It is a place steeped in history and if this goes there will be one less place that can be remembered with fondness. It was the birth place of one of if not the best infantry regiment in the British Army.
We will be calling on Paul Girvan to allow us the funds to get the project off the ground which could help so many Veterans and their families.
We, the undersigned, are demanding that the Depot at St. Patrick's Barracks (guardroom) be used as a museum and the offices be used to help the Veterans and their families who are suffering with mental health issues.
