We are interested in finding out if the local community supports the development of state funded Muslim Schools for parents who want an option of a faith-based schools. South East London has a number of faith schools both at primary and secondary level. But at present there are no Muslim faith based schools despite there being a high percentage of Muslim families in the South East London.
We the undersigned believe that there should be greater diversity and choice in the education provision in South East London. Parents should be able to have access to such a provision as part of a diverse and inclusive community.
We call upon the Local Education Authority to fund Muslim schools.
