Due to their natural habit being destroyed to make way for housing, the Vervet Monkey now lives in suburban areas, similar to foxes that now live in suburbia in London.
Despite many people enjoying the visiting Vervets, some supplying food, others taking care of their medical welfare, there are those that randomly shoot and wound these animals, or set their dogs on them.
Vervet monkeys have been part of South Africa for very many years. Please don't let them be wiped out. Give these monkeys State Protection, and make it a very serious offence to harm these animals.
The State is not contributing financially in any way to the well being of these animals, it is all taken on by individuals and small charities.
