Superintendent Harold Cebrum and the school board have approved a measure to restructure Lynwood elementary, middle and high schools. The students entering the 9th grade in 2004 will go to one school (elimination of one of the two middle schools). The students entering the sixth grade will go back to the elementary schools. This move returns a large number of sixth grade students to severely overcrowded elementary schools and will essentially kill the class size reduction measure instituted last year. Our children are just beginning to climb out of the bottom of the barrel, API wise and this move will definitely put a halt to that progress.
The Superintendent and school board have made decisions regarding the welfare and education of your children without your input. Please sign this petition to stop the inappropriate restructuring of our district schools.
