Too often schools will stop the education of a student because they may have one extra piercing in their ears. Just today I got pulled out of a year12 SAC because of an ear piercing.
Rules are made to make schools a healthy working environment, and teachers are designed to educate young minds, it is starting to appear that teachers care more about the appearance of their school rather than the education of their students.
Too many students are expelled/drop out because of piercings, and this has nothing to do with a students intelligence. Therefore, schools should not be able to disturb a child's choices in life, such as piercings, to keep their appearance untarnished, education must come first.
We, the undersigned, appeal to the Department of Education to enable the wearing of ear piercings in schools.
Kids are too often wrongly treated because they made a choice to get their ears pierced. So I ask you to take action and allow students to have permission to wear ear piercings in schools.
