The Chandler United Methodist Church, 450 E. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ is seeking a Use Permit to install a 60 foot high wireless communications cell phone tower on its property, from which it will derive monthly revenue. Because this facility will be located less than 300 feet from homes within the Pinelake Estates Community, the fact that a 60 foot cell phone tower is not architecturally compatible with the neighborhood, and based on the fact that there are multiple other site options in close proximity to the Church location, a petition to oppose the Use Permit is being circulated.
We are opposed to approval of a Use Permit for a 60 foot high cell phone tower, ZUP10-0037, at the United Methodist Church, 450 E. Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ. We oppose this based on the following concerns:
1) This facility will be located less than 300 feet from homes within the Pinelake Estates Community
2) The Pinelake Estates community was developed prior to the United Methodist Church,
3) A 60 foot cell phone tower is not architecturally compatable with the neighborhood
4) There are multiple other site options in close proximity to the Church location, including the City owned Bear Creek Golf Course which are further away from private residences and
5) The installation of such a tower may negatively impact home prices in the immediate vicinity.
