Stop the closure of intersection Highway 141 and Northwest 121st Street (Road to Jester Park Golf Course)

The intersection of Iowa Highway 141 and Northwest 121st Street that connects to one of the most direct routes to Jester Park Golf Course will permanently close. It's a part of a $10 million project planned by the Iowa Department of Transportation. Johnston says that it has seen more traffic due to a growing population and that's resulted in multiple high-speed crashes at the intersection in recent years. We are petitioning to have traffic signals put up at the intersection. We feel this would better serve the community and our tax dollars could be spent elsewhere.
We, the undersigned, call on the DOT and the City of Johnston to reconsider not closing this intersection and to put up a stop light instead. We are concerned with restricting of direct routes of emergency vehicles to service our neighborhoods, the wasted tax payer money and the use of eminent domain on farm ground.
