The state of Utah has approved funding for three schools to have a Russian Immersion Dual Language program.
Research shows that children who study language early enjoy many benefits including not only second language skills, but higher performance on standardized tests, improved cognitive skills, cultural competency and better preparation for a 21st century where we will be competing in a global economy.
We, the undersigned, want to show our support for bringing the Russian Dual Language Immersion Program to the Salt Lake City School District.
Our Russian heritage children and members of Salt Lake City multiethnic community deserve to have education in Russian language. We believe, that it will be one of the best assets for our children's future, building a bridge between Russian and American culture, and providing a tool for international communication.
