Lidl will be submitting a planning application to Southend-on-Sea Borough Council during mid-March 2019, for a new foodstore to be located on land at Campfield Road, Shoeburyness. Once validated, the application will be subject to a 13 week determination period.
The site is currently vacant land, located to the south of Campfield Road, west of New Garrison Road, and east of residential properties on Ness Road. The site currently comprises principally vegetation and scrub and excess cliff slip soil. The surrounding uses are generally mixed, including residential, medical facilities, industrial uses, Hinguar Primary school and commercial uses.
The proposals are for a new Lidl foodstore to serve the weekly and day-to-day shopping needs of residents in Shoeburyness.
We are delighted to be in a position to commence consultation with the local community on Lidl’s proposed plans for Shoeburyness.
Our proposal is to construct a new Lidl foodstore with a gross internal floorspace of 1,992 sqm, sales floorspace of 1,313 sqm and with 146 free car parking spaces. The store will be built to Lidl’s latest specification which promotes a modern building incorporating high quality materials and energy efficient building management systems.
