Rookley Country Park on the Isle of Wight was purchased in May 2017 by Aria
Services UK Ltd with the intention of redeveloping the site.
September 2017, All holiday home owners were given notice of eviction, first group to leave by December of this year, second group by December 2018.
There is No offer of compensation or financial help.
A small number of owners have managed to secure pitches on other sites at a cost to themselves of between £4 - 12,000. There are only a limited number of available pitches on our island and none take caravans over 10 years old.
The remaining owners have nowhere to go !
We will have to walk away from our investments of between £12 - 40,000 and leave with nothing! To say we're devastated is an under-statement.
Personal stories include an owner currently undergoing chemotherapy and a
90 year old lady who will lose her caravan and be left with £7000 outstanding finance she will be unable to pay.
We the undersigned, support Rookley Country Park holiday home owners in their fight against eviction notices. We wish to make other holiday home owners & potential buyers aware of the situation.
We ask M.P. Mr Bob Seely to accept our petition and act on our behalf to secure a better outcome for the above.
