Jetstar started at Avalon over ten years ago, providing services to Geelong, surf coast, regional Victoria and many Melbourne residents choosing Avalon as their preferred airport.
We need the state and local governments and Jetstar to work together. We need funding past April 2015 not only to support the current services but to expand Avalon to its full potential.
Looking at the demographic of Geelong and surrounding areas providing just a sydney service is not enough. young families,couples and retirees would benefit from Gold Coast, Cairns, Sunshine Coast and Tasmania services, giving them a fuss free travel experience, even if these were on a seasonal basis.
Please support the employees of Avalon, Victoria needs a successful secondary airport for many reasons: convenience, safety, employment and to support the growth of our local community.
Let's make Avalon work.
