The Banning of the wearing of the Islamic headdress in Australia

We, the undersigned petitioners hereby request the Senate to immediately ban the wearing of the Islamic Headdress, the Niqab and Burka in Australia.

The wearing of this form of headdress is based on the Sharia/Islamic Ideology, and has no bearing on any Religious practice.

These forms of headdress are both confrontational and intimidating to the general Australian people. This headdress is also disruptive to Australian laws and regulations. It demonstrates the Islamic belief of not integrating or assimilating with the Australian culture and lifestyle, and is a disruptive element within the normal administration of our country, in particular in regards to National Security.

As such, the Niqab and Burka pose a direct threat to the security of Australia.
