Traffic calming on Kingsway Braunstone Town

We the residence of Braunstone Town are starting a petition , for traffic calming measures to be inforced on the Kingsway , Braunstone Town , Leicester. After numerous incidence over the past years, of cars being hit on the bend of Kingsway, and last nights incident May 20th, of a car crashing into a local residence front garden at high speed, causing damage to a light post, fencing, and residential property, we ask that the local Braunstone Town Council, Blaby District Council , and Leicestershire Country Council, put traffic calming measures in place, in the form of speed humps. Previous requests have not been granted by the local authorities, however we the residence feel these measures of speed bumps need to be put in place, for public safety. As yet the only measure put in place is a sharpe bend sign , and elderly crossing on the Kingsway, however we feel this is not enough, as we have school children crossing near the bend on Kingsway, and this is placing them in danger.
