This Petition is for a Retired Disabled Air Force Staff Sergeant with a traumatic Brain Injury and other Neurological Health Issues he received while active duty military. SSgt Carpenter has recently had to move to the cantonment area and upon his move a Gulf Power security light that was on his account was shining in his bedroom window. Due to health reasons his wife turned it off. The LED Light shines in his bedroom illuminating his entire room even with blackout curtains on his window. For his privacy not all of his heath issues will be disclosed but this LED Light causes him Extreme Pain and Emotional/Neurological distress. Upon his wife turning off this light a neighbor and family member turned the light back on, after pleas from multiple members of the family to turn off the light nothing has been done. I would like to add that there is no shield for this new LED Light and I have also asked for the light to be moved it would only cost an additional $10.00 a month to put in a new pole.
SSgt Carpenter continues to suffer and have impaired quality of life. We have been forced to the point to ask for your help.
Please Help us get this light turned off,
SSgt Carpenter served his country and all he asks after giving his health in service, is for a good night sleep in the dark and to have his bedroom as a refuge on the days when his Disabilities are too much to be around the rest of the world.
We, the undersigned, call on Gulf Power to Turn Off the LED Security Light that is causing Health and Emotional Distress to Disabled SSgt Jake M. Carpenter USAF RET.
