Bob Marley's son, Ky-Mani, supported Van Halen on the first leg of their reunion tour. The band has tapped another unexpected artist to support the second half of the second leg of their USA reunion tour, R&B singer Ryan Shaw.
Shaw's official site had this announcement about the tour: [Ryan] will be going on tour as the sole supporting act for Van Halen starting on February 22nd! The critically acclaimed tour features Van Halen's original singer, David Lee Roth, who has not performed with the band in over 22 years
Van Halen is one of the most important and influential rock bands ever. Fans are paying high prices for tickets to see vocalist David Lee Roth return and perform with the band, that also consists of guitar legend Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, and new addition on the bass guitar Wolfgang Van Halen.
Due to the fact that Van Halen is a hard rock band and most of their fans are hard rock music lovers, why should they have to suffer through music acts which are not appealing or remotely similar to Van Halen after paying for the high cost of tickets for this reunion tour?
Other acts are available (i.e., Seether, Sixx A.M., Ratt, Warrant, Chevelle, Finger Eleven, Serj Tankian, Down, Sevendust- just to name a few) that would be more pleasing to the hard rock fans who will attend a Van Halen concert, instead of a musical act of a different genre.
We, the undersigned, call on Van Halen and their management to replace 2nd leg support act Ryan Shaw with a more suitable, guitar driven act, similar style wise to the great Van Halen.
