A two year battle by Henlow Developers, Town Farm Homes Ltd., ends soon when Central Bedfordshire Council make a decision (March 24th) on a highly contentious plan to build to the West Side of Henlow High Street.
Over two years residents have come to rely on Saynototownfarmdevelopment.com for up to date information. The website championed an Ombudsman ruling of maladministration. Just weeks ago it successfully restored part of the site to agricultural use.
The group continue to oppose the plans and work closely with the LGO, Defra, RIBA and the NT Orchard Project to ensure compliance with Development regulations. Undeterred by overwhelming opposition the Developers' agents cleared the site and started construction in 2009. Destroying as they worked, precisous biodiversity habitats.
This petition gives voice to the village's depth of feeling against development in Henlow's Conservation Area.
We the undersigned join Henlow Parish Council, Henlow Village Design Association and residents in total opposition to any Development at Town Farm.
Strain on the village infrastructure, increasing traffic congestion and the decreased safety and security of pedestrians, pupils and motorists concern us; as do threats to our main sewer, noise pollution, loss of biodiversity and development on Henlow’s vulnerable flood plain.
